Summer Sessions

Hello, hello and happy days!  Here's my August and September 2026 update on all things music, recent shows, and the call of the Ozarks.

A Big Thank You

First off, a massive, harmonized thank you for coming out to my shows and listening to my streams lately. Whether you were at the annual house concert with my pal Jim Parks, or at the Four Singer-Songwriters Soiree, or at my Sunday morning coffee house residency at the Friendly Coffee Lounge, your energy made everything sweeter. I sold a few CDs as well - if that was you, I would love to know what you thought!

A highlight was playing for the White Oak Festival crowd in Wisconsin. (See the photo above.) I even caught up with an old friend who I haven't seen in maybe 25 years. I love that! Saturday morning in the Quonset Hut was super special for me. Special thanks to Miguel Gonzalez for all of his musicality and support. There are more chances to see us in action together soon...

I might have seen you at a few sacred events including the ordination of the very special Rev. Dr. Emma Farrell, and the celebration of life of one of our community members. These are precious musical moments indeed.

A mix of sacred, and super fun -- it's been a great summer and I appreciate you so much for sharing a bit of your precious time with me in our shared musical landscape.

I have a packed calendar for the final stretch of summer, so mark your calendar and let's go, together!

This week:

Fri AUG 21

Music in Residence

This is a very special fundraiser evening at the Peterson's Oak Park home. Capacity is tight, so contact me if you want the details and we can chat. Here's a little more about MIR, this amazing organization bringing music back into our homes.

Sun AUG 30

Church of the Singer-Songwriter

Sunday Morning 10am-12pm, Friendly Coffee House in Berwyn. It's my monthly residency with rotating songs, friends, and chill vibes, though admittedly somewhat over-caffeinated. (What will she do next?!)  The details are HERE.

Thurs Aug 27

Banjo After Dark

Borelli's Pizza, 2124 W Lawrence Ave., Chicago. Miguel joins me for a set at 7pm, then Open Old Timey Jam is at 8pm led by Jonas Friddle. Come for the nosh, stay for the fiddle tunes. Check out the link below to learn about this amazing Thursday ritual on the north side.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Highlonesome Festival, Ava, Missouri

I'm heading to the Ozarks with Sydney Storm as my travel companion and Miguel Gonzalez as musical collaborator. It's going to be "hippie heaven" I am told so wish me luck with the camping and country roads. I anticipate acoustic music mayhem!  I'm so excited to be sharing my tunes in the "Musical Forest" and at the "Daybreak Stage," and see some amazing acts and make new friends, maybe even a goat?

A breathtaking view of layers of blue mountains under a warm sunset glow.

SAT SEPT 12

Barrie Fest Opener

Miguel and I are taking the stage at noon at Barrie Park in Oak Park. Let's kick off the festivities together!

SUN SEPT 20

Friendly Music Community Residency

We are back at it again for another morning of songs and stories.  Come have a coffee with me between 10am and 12pm to kick up your Sunday.

Workshops:

In October, I’ll be sharing some insights and offering facilitation at the weekend Creative Retreat through Art Power Press.  Let me know if you are interested, there are a few slots still open.  I'm also speaking at the College of DuPage's Music Fridays @ Noon series about the power of music therapy in the medical environment.

Now, don't be a stranger.  I would love to hear from you.  Cheers!
