Filled with loving kindness, and ending homelessness

This morning I was honored to share some beautiful songs with my faith community. Just after services I then premiered a meditation song called "Filled with Loving Kindness" on YouTube. "Filled with Loving Kindness" is one of my favorite meditations. It is based on Buddhist Tradition, and adapted by Mark Hayes in 1949 and the music was added by Ian W. Riddell in 1968. In the short 3 minutes, the words, "May I be filled,... may YOU be filled,... may WE be filled with loving kindness," can become the foundation of your meditation practice. I find it wonderfully rich in helping me find more patience and reduce my anxiety when I need it. Let me know if you like it as well. Click here and give it a thumbs up if you like it.

ENDING HOMELESSNESS in CHICAGO

On Tuesday, I'm supporting The Night Ministry in Chicago who work to reduce homelessness. Tuesday night Sarah Falkiner's short film, "Vince: The Punctual Vagrant" will be shown and donations will be encouraged through this Eventbrite virtual ticket. The suggested donation is $5, but hey, give generously if you can, or not at all if you can't. Sarah invited me to perform as a part of the film premiere last summer in the community gardens in Logan Square around the corner from my old house. It was sublime. Now we get to do it again online.

Tuesday I'll be sharing live my tune "You Belong" (co-written with the wonderful Heather Treadway) as well as a cover of one of my favorite songs of resilience by Gillian Welch called "Hard Times." It will be a lovely evening and I'm excited to kick off the events on Tuesday, January 26 at 5:30pm. The lineup for the evening is here. Can you join us and support the Night Ministry to end homelessness? I hope to see you Tuesday.

By all means subscribe here and I'll keep you posted on new releases (spoiler alert: I'm working on some cool stuff so I don't want you to miss out.)

Thanks as always for you interest. Keep singing!

- Victoria
